Farm Bill Expected This Week

The House and Senated reported the farm bill out of Conference for consideration of the full House and Senate on Monday night, and the Senate passed the bill 87-13 on Tuesday. The final bill is currently on the House calendar for Thursday of this week. 

The legislation maintains SLMA priorities, including the Research and Wood Innovation Grant sections of the Timber Innovation Act, and language to prevent government agencies from giving procurement preference beyond the USDA BioPreferred Program.
