Congress Passes Short-Term Funding Bill

Before heading home for the Thanksgiving recess, Congress sent another short-term funding bill to President Trump's desk that will keep the government running through December 20th. The Continuing Resolution continues to include language directing federal agencies to finalize a carbon neutrality policy for biomass that is burned to produce energy, including sawmill residuals that are burned to heat kilns or sold to energy companies. Additionally, the House and Senate have reportedly agreed to topline spending numbers to use when negotiating government funding for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2020, which Congress hopes to accomplish before funding expires on December 20th.
