A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN:
The Cloister at Sea Island opened in 1928 and first promoted itself as a quiet, worry-free escape. In the 92 years since its founding, the resort has hosted US presidents, world leaders, a G8 Summit and more importantly, prior SLMA meetings. It has been far too long since the world class resort hosted our association.
This spring has been unprecedented in our country as we have adjusted to business, school and church restrictions, and to new social norms. SLMA is in discussions with the Cloister on how to manage this year's convention given today's new social distancing guidelines. The plan at this time is to move forward with holding the convention.
MaryGoodloe, Clara, AnneMillen and I are excited to return to this seaside retreat that currently boasts as the only resort in the world to achieve four Forbes-Five Star Awards twelve years in a row. Our meetings will be informative, our free time relaxing, and our social events fun and engaging. Join us to celebrate another successful year of the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association.
