Professional Bio
Mr. Pierre Gilbert graduated in chemical engineering from the Polytechnic School of Montreal and began his career as a representative in the field of industrial ventilation, pollution control, and energy recovery.
He participated in the founding of Salton Installation Inc., which was the Quebec branch of Salton Fabrication Ltd of Vancouver, now Wellons Canada. As a partner of Salton Installation, Mr. Gilbert promoted and sold the company's products until its closure.
In 1996 he founded Secovac, which manufactures kilns and multi-zone control systems for lumber kilns. In 2012 Sécovac innovated its software to integrate it into the AccuStop™ plate system, which allows reading the actual humidity of the wood inside traditional dry kilns.
Now Secovac is making its latest technological breakthrough in the field of drying control for the lumber industry with the new EchoStop™ system which has been designed to measure wood moisture without contact for continuous kilns.
